Fish and Wildlife Technician 1 (Seasonal)

Duties will involve a combination of small mammal surveys and surveys for a variety of birds, including grassland birds, forest/young forest birds and marshbirds and assisting with data entry and data summarization related to work on these and other projects, including New England cottontail and winter raptor surveys. Applicants should have a demonstrated ability to identify northeastern bird species by sight and sound and experience with small mammal trapping. Experience in the use of GPS, GIS and Excel are preferred. Experience in recording vegetation measurements in the field and identifying habitat types from aerial photographs is desirable. Position involves travel from the office to study sites and will require long days and frequent early morning and evening hours.

Salary Range:
From $16.67 to $16.67 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries; marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
