Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Schenectady, NY
1 year contract, $ 36.00 - 40.00 an hour
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Manage small-to-mid sized projects related to process equipment and manufacturing.
Design and implement corrective/preventative actions for existing equipment and manufacturing processes.
Assist in the review of designs site acceptance and installation of equipment.
Develop design solutions, create prototypes and test concepts.
Focus upon design work in a comprehensive manner taking all relevant factors into consideration including manufacturability and durability of design elements
Quote designs and down select vendor based on cost, cycle, and quality.
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university
Able to fluently speak and write in the English language
Demonstrated ability to re-prioritize workload under short deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Demonstrated proficiency with PC business applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, and Project)
Proactive, accurate, thorough, and detail-oriented.
Willing to take on a variety of tasks with little supervision
A strong understanding of traditional stress and thermal analysis techniques with ability to perform non-formal calculations for design justifications.
Strong knowledge in 3D CAD modeling
Experience in fixturing / tooling
Ability to create detailed drawings to ASME 14.5M-2009 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing specifications
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
