CB&I Federal Services have an openining for a Construction Field Manager to support our decontamination and decommissioning of the Knolls Atomic Power Lab in Niskayuna, NY. Summary:
The position of Construction Field Manager is for the Knolls Atomic Laboratory site in Nisakyuna, New York. The following explains the job responsibilities and expectations for all employees who are classified in this job family. Responsibilities:
-This position is an exempt management position that requires practical knowledge of standard procedures in radiological decontamination and dispositioning activities.
-Responsible to manage and carry out projects which involve use of specialized techniques following the requirements of LAB RC 0288 Radiological Controls Manual and the Corporate Nuclear Power Manual.
-Must be capable of using independent judgment in evaluating, comparing, and interpreting data and making recommendations after considering alternatives.
-A large portion of the responsibilities of this position involves construction support activities and coordination with other work groups associated with maintenance, evaluation, and disposal activities using engineered methods due to contamination and high radiation levels.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Daily oversight and management of operations and engineering personnel such that all safety, environmental, radiological, engineering and operational standards are met.
-Site planning, work performance, worker safety and health compliance, and radiological and safety auditing.
-Scheduling, cost control and tracking, employee relations and work quality.
-May serve as team leader for assigned projects, coordinating with other team leaders and supervisory personnel.
-Provide planning and forward-looking approaches to managing work and project management activities.
-Conduct investigations, prepare reports, critiques, and provide primary authorship of management level correspondence.
-Must communicate well in both oral and written forms.
-May be required to review Technical Work Documents in support of decontamination and dispositioning work.
-Oversight of field work for job performance and safety.
Qualifications/Competencies/
Experience:
-Requires a Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in the areas of radiological and environmental maintenance, decommissioning and decontamination work utilizing approximately 90 or more employees.
-Prior Naval Reactors program experience is strongly preferred.
-Must be a US Citizen; no dual citizenship.
-Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L Security Clearance

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
