The Ceramic Engineer will have primary responsibility for ceramic processes and manufacturing equipment in GE's new battery factory located on the GE Energy campus in Schenectady, New York.
Essential Responsibilities In addition you will:
Develop, evaluate, monitor, and improve manufacturing equipment and processes (Utilizing knowledge of product specifications, materials properties, ceramic processing methods, production equipment capabilities, and quality control standards)
Identify technology trends for business and develop technical roadmaps and research plans to address them
Deliver effective presentations, reports, and publications internally and externally, as appropriate
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering or Ceramic Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of post-degree / industry related experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
Desired Characteristics
Experience in Ceramic Processing
Proven leadership in the use of reliability tools and practices
Master's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering or Ceramic Engineering
Minimum of 3 years of post-degree experience
Experience in batch calculation, milling, spray drying, iso-static pressing forming, and ceramic inspection
Excellent oral and written communications
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience in high volume ceramic manufacturing
Ability to work independently and in large multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to commit to aggressive timelines and to deliver on those commitments
Experience and proven track-record using Six Sigma tools, as appropriate
