Newscast Director


WRGB/WCWN is looking for a Director for our Newscast.



Responsibilities:


Perform any production duties as assigned including:



  • TD newscasts and other productions using a fully automated control room

  • Prep and maintain production studio and control room

  • Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned

  • Works with producers on rundown preparation and show presentation

  • Troubleshoot any problems during newscasts.


Requirements:



  • Experience directing newscasts. Experience with robotic cameras, Ross Overdrive, Ross Xpression and iNews a plus

  • Knowledge of production standards and equipment

  • Basic knowledge of studio and production equipment such as microphones, IFBs, audio consoles and video switchers

  • Ability to clearly give direction to crew and talent while under pressure

  • Typing and good spelling skills

  • Ability to read and write

  • College degree preferred

  • Must be able to lift & position 40 lb. lighting instruments.


The base hourly compensation range for this role is $16.35 to $18.75 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
