Program Aide

The Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) provides high-quality, person-centered services, supports and advocacy to approximately 136,000 individuals with developmental disabilities in New York State. OPWDD operates six Developmental Disabilities State Operations Offices (DDSOO) throughout the state. Each DDSOO is responsible for the direct provision of state-operated services and supports. The Central Office Division of Service Delivery/State Operation's office is responsible for providing direction and oversight of the six DDSOOs. In support of state operations, the Program Aide will provide a wide range of administrative, clerical, and secretarial services for the Division of State Operations Bureau Directors (Director of State Operations Planning and Quality Improvement, Director of State Operations Clinical Services, and Director of State Operations Programs and Services). The incumbent will interact with OPWDD Leadership, management, unions, outside agencies, families, and other stakeholders and, as such, will handle confidential matters. The incumbent of this position will serve as the principal administrative support for the Division of State Operations program Directors and will ensure the efficient operation of the office by performing a wide range of administrative tasks related to correspondence, files, and calendar management; work coordination; customer service; fielding of questions; information gathering and compilation of reports. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to, the following:
Coordinate information flow by acting as liaison among executives, field operations, and other Central Office Division representatives Establish/enhance office procedures; maintain efficient workflow; track and coordinate assignments Design filing systems to manage paper and electronic documentation and correspondences Utilize information technology applications such as email, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing Create, maintain, and enter information into spreadsheets and databases Maintain scheduling and event calendars for supervisor(s); schedule and confirm appointments Make travel arrangements for supervisor(s); create and/or submit travel expense reports Complete forms in accordance with agency procedures Operate office equipment such as printers, scanners, and copiers; arrange for repairs and supplies when needed Make copies of various documents, file and/or distribute as appropriate Compose, type, and distribute meeting notes, correspondence, and reports Review work completed by supervisor(s) to check for correct spelling and grammar; ensure office format policies are followed, and recommend revisions Manage projects or contribute to committee or teamwork Greet visitors or callers and handle their inquiries; or direct calls/inquiries to the appropriate persons Resolve day-to-day operational problems Other duties as assigned Telecommuting to be discussed #LI-LT1

Salary Range:
From $50347 to $61330 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Candidates must be reachable for appointment on Current Civil Service Eligible List for this title. OR Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1, 70.4, or 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
